Jets Softball win home opener

Game 1

Northern Oklahoma College-Enid  defeated Hutchinson Community College 11-4 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game.  The game was tied at four with Northern Oklahoma College-Enid  batting in the bottom of the fifth when Desirea Tecumseh singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Kaitlyn Thomas led Northern Oklahoma College-Enid  to victory by driving in four runs.  She went 3-for-4 at the plate.  Thomas drove in runs on a home run in the fourth, a single in the fifth, and a single in the sixth.

Hutchinson Community College fired up the offense in the first inning.  Aubrey Peck drove in two when she singled.

Northern Oklahoma College-Enid  notched four runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive onslaught came from singles by Lauren Ball and Thomas and a sac fly by Tecumseh.

Lindsi Spring was on the rubber for Northern Oklahoma College-Enid . She allowed five hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out 13.

Brynne Stockman led things off in the pitcher's circle for Hutchinson Community College. She lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out three.  Madison Lewellen and Cassidy Prucha entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.

Northern Oklahoma College-Enid  tallied two home runs on the day. Thomas went deep in the fourth inning. Tecumseh put one out in the fourth inning.

Northern Oklahoma College-Enid  collected ten hits on the day.  Thomas, Tecumseh, and Megan Lee each racked up multiple hits for Northern Oklahoma College-Enid .  Thomas led Northern Oklahoma College-Enid  with three hits in four at bats.

 

Game 2

The second game was postponed with the Jets softball team leading 13-12 in the bottom of the 4th inning. The game will be resumed at a later date.
