Jets Fall to Connors St in Midweek Action

NOC Jets stayed in it until the end, but Connors pulled away late in a 13-4 victory on Monday. The game was tied at four with Connors batting in the top of the sixth when Colton Burgess singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

The NOC Jets struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Connors, giving up 13 runs.

Connors got on the board in the second inning when Jackson Field doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

NOC Jets knotted the game up at four in the bottom of the fifth inning. NOC Jets scored two runs when EJ Taylor homered.

After Connors scored one run in the top of the third, NOC Jets answered with one of their own. Connors scored when Field singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. NOC Jets then answered when Griffin Keller grounded out, scoring one run.

Connors pulled away for good with two runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Jake Northern doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Connors scored four runs in the eighth inning. Connors batters contributing to the big inning included Northern and George Bell, all driving in runs in the inning.

Martinez got the win for Connors. He lasted four innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out two and walking one. #44 and #28 entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Cade Fulton took the loss for NOC Jets. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out three.

NOC Jets saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Matt Conerly and Taylor each racked up multiple hits for NOC Jets. Taylor and Conerly all had two hits to lead NOC Jets.

Connors totaled 17 hits. Luis Pelayo, Northern, Field, Darian Luper, and Drenis Ozuna each managed multiple hits for Connors. Pelayo led Connors with four hits in five at bats. Connors was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Burgess had the most chances in the field with 12.
