Jets baseball honored at regents meeting

The Northern Oklahoma College Enid Jets Baseball Team was honored at the NOC Board of Regents meeting Tuesday in Enid.

A proclamation was approved honoring their 2018 season.

The Jets (48-16 in 2018) finished 3rd in the NJCAA National Tournament in May and were ranked 8th in the final NJCAA baseball poll.

"Great college, great town," said Jets head coach Raydon Leaton.  "None of this is possible without great administrative support.  That support allows us to do what we do."

NOC President Dr. Cheryl Evans reflected on the Jets' 2018 season.

"They made us so proud, what a great season," she said.  "It was so exciting to see the Jets represent NOC in the national tournament.  The City of Enid does such a great job in hosting the event and to have an NOC team in the tournament is such a fantastic thing for our school and for Enid.  We are so proud of them and are looking forward to this season."

Athletic director Jeremy Hise added, "From having played for and coached for Coach Leaton, it was very satisfying to see the Jets make their run last year.  They have a great program and I'm proud of what they have accomplished."
