Jets open playoffs Thursday

The #11 NOC Enid Jets begin Region 2 Tournament play Thursday hosting Murray State at 3:30 p.m. at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

The Jets (33-16) finished in a three way second place conference tie with NOC Tonkawa and Murray State.

NOC Enid split four games with Murray State (27-23) in 2019, each winning one game at home.

In each of the four games, the winner scored more than 10 runs.

The Aggies were 10-8 in region play and finished fourth.

The Jets are led in hitting by Brendon Woelfle at .343.  Tanner Neely leads NOC Enid with 11 home runs and 48 runs batted in.

Dylan Caplinger leads the club in steals with 18.

On the mound, Kaleb McCullough leads the team in wins with eight while Evan Kowalski leads the team with a 3.71 ERA and strikeouts with 71.  Lawson Isaacs leads the team in saves with three.

Other first round games include #13 NOC Tonkawa-Carl Albert at noon and #2 Western-Redlands at 7 p.m.

The tournament ends May 12 with the winner advancing to the NJCAA World Series in Enid starting May 25.
