Clay Lockett's two out walk-off grand slam rallied the NOC Enid Jets past Redlands in Game 1 of the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament Sunday at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
Lockett's home run then propelled the Jets in Game 2, beating Redlands 13-3 to clinch the NJCAA World Series berth.
The win qualified NOC Enid (38-17) for the Region 2 berth in the NJCAA Division 2 World Series May 25 - June 1 at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid.
Jets 12, Redlands 11
The Jets trailed the Cougars in Game 1 11-3 before scoring five runs in the 7th and then four in the 9th for the improbable come back win.
Doubles by Dylan Caplinger and Garrett Misenheimer were the key hits for the Jets in the 7th.
Then, in the 9th inning, Alec Buonasera, Ethan Williams, and Caplinger reached ahead of Lockett's game winning blast with two outs.
Misenheimer had three hits and four runs batted in for the Jets while Caplinger added three hits as well. EJ Taylor had two hits and two runs scored for the Jets.
Jarrett Sweeney (7-3) was the winner from the Jets' bullpen allowing three hits over 2.1 innings of work.
Jets 13, Redlands 3
Riding the momentum from Lockett's big blast, the Jets cruised past Redlands in Game 2 13-3 clinching the Region 2 title.
The Jets trailed 2-1 before scoring six runs in the 4th and then three more in the 5th to take a commanding 10-2 lead.
Lockett continued his hot hitting with two hits and three runs batted in. Seth Graves had two hits including a home run while DJ Calvert, Buonasera, and Brendon Woelfle had two hits each.
The Jets had six extra base hits in Game 2.
Sweeney (8-3) was the starter for the Jets allowing three runs in five innings. Lawson Isaacs pitched the final four innings allowing just two hits striking out four.
