Jets advance with win over Kellogg, face Pearl River (MS) Monday

The NOC Enid Jets (39-17) advanced in the NJCAA Tournament with a 14-8 win over Kellogg (MI) in the first round Sunday morning.

Sunday's game was completed from Saturday night when NOC Enid led 9-7 before rains suspended play in the 9th inning.

The Jets are scheduled to face Pearl River (MS) at 7:15 p.m. Monday.  Pearl River won their opener 8-4 over Pasco-Hernando State.

The Jets trailed Kellogg 6-3 until NOC Enid rallied for five runs in the 6th to take a 9-7 lead and then poured on five late runs to seal the 14-8 win.

DJ Calvert and Garrett Misenheimer had three hits each for the Jets while Alec Buonasera had two for NOC Enid.

Stevie Owings earned the win from the Jets' bullpen tossing three innings allowing two runs.

Kaleb McCullough allowed five unearned runs in his four innings of work.
