NOC Enid loses heartbreaker to Pasco-Hernando, rematch Thursday night

The NOC Enid Jets suffered their first loss in the NJCAA World Series Wednesday night losing a 10 inning 12-11 topsy turvy decision to Pasco-Hernando (FL) Wednesday afternoon at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

NOC Enid (40-18) now faces Pasco-Hernando again at 7 p.m. Thursday night.

The winner advances to the NJCAA World Series Final Friday night against the Mesa-Madison winner at 7 p.m.

NOC Enid trailed the Bobcats 9-7 after seven innings when the Jets crept closer as EJ Taylor was hit by a pitch and then scored on a Garrett Misenheimer single and NOC was within 9-8.

After Pasco-Hernando scored a run in the 9th inning, the Jets needed two runs to tie trailing 10-8.

Matt Henderson and Seth Graves singled setting up a big inning for the Jets in the bottom of the 9th.  DJ Calvert then singled and two runs scored on a Bobcat error to tie the game at 10-10 with Calvert at 3rd base and none out.

Pasco-Hernando then wriggled off the hook and the game was tied at 10-10 going to extra innings.

The Bobcats scored two runs in the 10th to take a 12-10 lead, the Jets rallied for one run as Dylan Caplinger scored on a Misenheimer single and it was 12-11.  But the Bobcats once again stymied the Jets and picked up the 12-11 win.

The two teams combined for 33 hits, Graves had five hits for the Jets including two doubles and two runs scored.  Misenheimer and Brendon Woelfle had three hits each for the Jets. Calvert had two hits and two runs batted in.
