Jets advance to NJCAA National Championship Game Friday at 7 p.m.

The NOC Enid Jets will play for their first ever NJCAA National Championship Friday night against Mesa (AZ) at 7 p.m. in Enid at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

The Jets advanced to the final with a 15-6 win over Pasco-Hernando State (FL).

NOC Enid dominated the Bobcats building a 10-0 lead in the 5th and then withstood a Bobcat rally to earn the run rule win.

The Jets hit four home runs to lead a 17 hit attack.  EJ Taylor had two home runs while Tanner Neely and DJ Calvert had one blast each.

The top five in the Jets order (Seth Graves, DJ Calvert, EJ Taylor, Tanner Neely, Dylan Caplinger) combined for 13 base hits, scored 12 runs and had 11 runs batted in.

On Wednesday night, the Bobcats jumped to an early 6-0 lead in their extra inning win over NOC Enid but Thursday night it was all Jets.  

NOC scored in each of the first five innings scoring at least two runs in every inning but the 3rd.

EJ Taylor and Tanner Neely hit back to back blasts in the 4th and then after the Bobcats cut the Jets lead to 10-6 after 5 innings, the Jets answered with five runs to build the lead back to 15-6.

In the big Jets 6th inning, Shane Nixon tripled and scored on a Graves double.  Calvert and Taylor then went back to back for the Jets in the big Jets inning.

Kaleb McCullough started for the Jets pitching into the 5th inning before getting relief help from Lawson Isaacs.

McCullough allowed three earned runs in four innings, Isaacs allowed three over the final three innings.

The Jets out hit the Bobcats 17-5.

Mesa advanced with a 7-3 win over Madison (WI) Thursday afternoon.
