The 16th ranked NOC Enid Jets used strong performances from Evan Kowalski and Ambren Voitik to beat Iowa Central 5-2 last Friday as the Jets won of three against Iowa Central this past weekend.

NOC Enid is now 4-7 on the year.

In Game 1, Voitik had four hits including a triple and home run and Kowalski tossed shut out baseball over six innings to earn the win on the mound. 

Trey Lazenby allowed just one run in three innings from the Jets' bullpen.

"Evan Kowalski and Trey Lazenby set the tone for us on the mound, Ambren Voitik got us going at the plate and the rest of the team followed with a really clean game," said coach Scott Mansfield.  "It was a good win against a good ball club."

In Game 2, Iowa Central pounded 10 hits and beat the Jets 13-1 in five innings.

Matthew Henderson drove home the only Jets run with an rbi ground out scoring Voitik.

Brandon Hudson was the starter for the Jets with bullpen help from Alex Smith, Alex Walton, and Brandon Eropkin.

"When you walk nine guys, it's going to be hard to beat any teams, especially good ones like Iowa Central," Mansfield said.  "They made us pay for those walks and found ourselves in a deep hole we couldn't climb out of."

In the final game of the series on Saturday, Iowa Central won a close 4-2 game over the Jets.

Gage Ninness had two hits and two runs batted in for the Jets.  Alec Buonasera and Henderson added two hits each.

Dylan Turner and Lucas DeGarmo allowed four runs on eight hits for the Jets pitching staff.

"It would have been real easy for our guys to tuck tail and feel sorry for themselves after game 1 but they came out, competed, found a way to tie the game late but feel short of our goal," Mansfield said.  "We never want to lose two of three but Iowa Central is a good ball club and this series, like the rest of our series made us better and we're going to continue to grow and learn from these lessons. We'll get back to work Monday and preparing for DMACC.
