Bay earns 700th win, Jets split two at Redlands

Christian Estep tossed a complete game while Cooper Smith and Jesse Ponce homered in a 15-2 win at Redlands on Saturday.  The Jets lost Game 2, 8-6.

Saturday's win was the 700th for Jets coach Ryan Bay.

In Game 1, the Jets led 6-2 and then broke the game wide open with nine runs in the 7th inning.

Gabe Hamilton led a 12 hit attack with three hits and three runs batted in.  Brandon Pierre, Cooper Smith, and Miles Lock had two hits each.  Smith and Ponce each homered for the Jets.

Estep allowed just three hits and struck out seven Cougar hitters.

In Game 2, the Jets rallied from down 8-3 only to lose 8-6.

Lock had two hits for the Jets, Estep had a solo home run for the Jets.  

Cale Wetwiska, Logan Wade, Jesse Slimp, and Julio Heredia worked for the Jets.

NOC Enid (29-15) is now 15-6 in league play.

The Jets host DFW Post Grad Tuesday at 10 a.m. and noon.
