Jets fall to NOC Tonkawa

TONKAWA, Oklahoma -- NOC Enid fell twice to NOC Tonkawa Friday 9-8 in Game 1 and 15-5 in Game 2.

In Game 1, the Jets jumped out to an early 5-0 lead but NOC Tonkawa scored four runs in the 6th to win 9-8.

The Jets trailed 9-7 heading to the 7th, the Jets scored one run on a Christian Estep groundout that plated Jesse Ponce but Brandon Pierre struck out to end the game.

NOC Enid had 13 hits led by Miles Lock with three hits while Jhett Creel, Owen Tracy, Cale Wetwiska, and Pierre had two hits each.  Graham Hylton led the Jets with three runs batted in.

Cale Wetwiska started for the Jets with bullpen help from Corbin Kwan and Julio Heredia.

In Game 2, the Jets led 5-4 in the 5th inning but NOC Tonkawa scored 11 runs over the final three innings to win 15-5.

Owen Tracy hit a solo home run for the Jets while Cooper Smith added two hits.

Christian Estep started for the Jets with Jesse Slimp and Daniel Schlehuber worked from the pen.

The Jets (33-21) are 17-12 in conference play while NOC Tonkawa (37-17) are now 18-11.

The two teams conclude their three game series Sunday in Enid at 1 p.m.
