FALL SEASON
The fall season is a chance for the newcomers to learn the system and philosophies of Jets baseball. The season consists of the right mixture of inner-squad games, individualized instruction, physical and mental conditioning, and a fall schedule that includes games with many four-year colleges and universities. This schedule allows the athletes to gain exposure to both major college coaches and professional scouts. The fall season enables the coaches to evaluate players, teach the basic fundamentals, and to introduce the players the Jets style of baseball. Heavy emphasis is placed on learning individual and team fundamentals.
WINTER PROGRAM
The focus of the winter program is to develop players in weight training, speed training, flexibility, hitting, and pitching fundamentals. The NOC Enid staff will direct each player in what they feel needs to be emphasized. During the winter months, one-on-one instruction is utilized as the teaching tool. Nautilus and swimming are the two biggest conditioning tools used. Flexible strength is the goal of our winter program. Pitchers will work on fundamentals including all aspects of the mound. Hitters work on a variety of hitting drills and fundamentals every day. This is the time of year that makes a complete player in the spring season.
SPRING SCHEDULE
Spring practices begin after Christmas break. Enid is very fortunate to have an outstanding indoor facility. The spring schedule consists of 56 games with the majority of its games played at home. Opening day is around the 2nd week of February and the Region II playoffs start the 2nd weekend in May. The Jets play 3-4 times per week. The Jets annual goal starting in August is to be playing for a National Championship!
The NOC Enid Jets have the fortune of playing at two outstanding ballparks. Downtown is David Allen Memorial Ballpark, opened in 1999 as the host of the American Legion State Tournament. David Allen Memorial Ballpark is the host of the Region II Tournament and has been the site of the NJCAA Division II World Series since 2009! The Ballpark was recently extended the Series through 2019. The cost of this stadium is around $4 million and seats 3000 fans. The NOC Failing ballpark was built in the 1950s. This historic ballpark continues to be one of the most historical ballparks in the state. This ballpark is known for the unique features it provides to the players. Failing Park is highlighted by its 32-foot long scoreboard. Both facilities have excellent lights allowing for night games and practices.
