NOC Takes Early Lead In Victory Over Dodge City

NOC grabbed an early lead on its way to an 11-4 victory over Dodge City Community College on Tuesday. The Lady Jets scored on a double by Brooklyn Sparkman in the first inning, a single by Courtlyn Head in the first inning, a groundout by Marrissa Gibson in the second inning, and a double by Lexi Vargas in the second inning. NOC earned the victory despite allowing Dodge City to score three runs in the fifth inning. Jordyn McDaniel and Brooklyn Botts each had RBIs in the big inning. The Lady Jets put up four runs in the sixth inning. The Lady Jets' big inning was driven by groundouts by Lindsi Spring and Summer Boynton, a single by Vargas, and by HeadSparkman got the win for NOC. She allowed four hits and four runs over five innings, striking out eight. Spring threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. The Lady Jets racked up ten hits on the day. Kirsten GoodmanGibson, and Vargas each racked up multiple hits for the team. VargasGibson, and Goodman each collected two hits to lead the Lady Jets. NOC didn't commit a single error in the field. Head had the most chances in the field with 11. McDaniel led Dodge City with two hits in four at bats.
