Seminole State Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

NOC fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-4 loss to Seminole State on Tuesday. Seminole scored on a groundout by Abbi Johnson and a single by Macy Smith in the first inning. The Lady Jets struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Seminole State, giving up 12 runs. NOC notched three runs in the fourth inning. Lexi Vargas and Kyia Monahwee each had RBIs in the frame. Seminole scored six runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for Seminole came thanks to singles by Kristen Prieto and Johnson and a home run by Sadi Avants. Avants was on the rubber for Seminole State. She went three and a third innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out five. Lindsi Spring was in the circle for the Lady Jets. She allowed eight hits and nine runs over five innings, striking out four. Courtney Vaughn threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Seminole tallied two home runs on the day. Avants put one out in the fourth inning. Prieto had a four bagger in the sixth inning. NOC totaled eight hits in the game. Brooklyn Sparkman and Kelsey Gammage each had multiple hits for the Lady Jets. Sparkman went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead NOC in hits. Seminole tallied ten hits. Prieto and Smith both collected multiple hits for Seminole. Prieto led Seminole State with four hits in four at bats.
