Lindsi Spring Shuts Out Western

Lindsi Spring didn't allow a single run against Western, throwing a complete game shutout and leading NOC to a 9-0 victory on Thursday. The Lady Jets secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Marrissa Gibson and Kirsten Goodman, a walk by Madeline Pitts, by Madi Powell, an error on a ball put in play by Brooklyn Sparkman, and a double by Harley Smith. NOC fired up the offense in the first inning, when Hannah Naylor induced Spring to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. NOC scored eight runs in the fourth inning. GibsonPittsSparkmanSmithGoodman, and Powell each had RBIs in the big inning. A single by Justice Frazier in the first inning was a positive for Western. Spring was credited with the victory for the Lady Jets. She surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Naylor led things off on the rubber for Western. She went five innings, allowing nine runs on ten hits and striking out one. NOC collected ten hits. Gibson and Kamber Leforce each had multiple hits for the Lady Jets. Leforce and Gibson each collected two hits to lead the team. Frazier went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Western in hits.
