NOC Falls To Rose State After Fifth Inning Score

Thursday's game against Rose State was a heartbreaker for the Lady Jets, as they lost the lead late in a 6-3 defeat. The game was tied at one with Rose batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored one run for Rose. In the first inning, NOC got their offense started. Brooklyn Sparkman's sac fly scored one run for the Lady Jets. Rose State knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning, when Brianna Dow singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. Katie Lane got the start for Rose. She allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out six. Lindsi Spring led things off on the rubber for the Lady Jets. She surrendered four runs on eight hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one. Courtney Vaughn threw one and one-third innings in relief. NOC tallied seven hits in the game. Kyia Monahwee and Lexi Vargas both collected multiple hits for the Lady Jets. Vargas and Monahwee each collected two hits to lead NOC. Rose State collected 11 hits. Dow and Kaytlyn Marsh each had multiple hits for the Lady Raiders. Dow went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Rose in hits. Rose State was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Camryn Fixico had the most chances in the field with ten.
