Lady Jets Grab Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Rose State

NOC nabbed the lead late in the game in a 7-5 victory over Rose State on Thursday. The game was tied at five with the Lady Jets batting in the top of the seventh when Brooklyn Sparkman homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. Sparkman led NOC to victory by driving in five runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. Sparkman drove in runs on a single in the first, a groundout in the third, a single in the fifth, and a home run in the seventh. In the top of the sixth inning, NOC tied things up at five when Kelsey Gammage's sac fly scored one run for the Lady Jets. Sparkman led the NOC to victory on the rubber. She surrendered five runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking one. Matison Worcester led things off in the circle for Rose State. She went seven innings, allowing seven runs on 12 hits and striking out two. NOC tallied 12 hits. SparkmanKaitlyn Stark, and Lexi Vargas each managed multiple hits for the Lady Jets. VargasStark, and Sparkman each managed three hits to lead the team. NOC was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Vargas made the most plays with ten. Casey Wojcak led Rose State with two hits in four at bats.
