In Final Home Series, NOC Sweeps Western And Finishes 31-22 (17-15) Heading Into Postseason

NOC defeated Western 8-0 on Thursday in Game 2 of a doubleheader as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. NOC tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by the Lady Jets was led by Summer SoriceMarrissa Gibson, and Lexi Vargas, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. One bright spot for Western was a single by Vannessa Molina in the fourth inning. Brooklyn Sparkman led NOC to victory in the circle. She lasted three innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking zero. Vaughn threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Mackenzie Diaz started the game for Western. She lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 hits and eight runs while striking out one. NOC racked up 11 hits on the day. Kelsey GammageVargas, and Gibson all managed multiple hits for the Lady Jets. Vargas and Gammage each collected three hits to lead the team.
