Jets finish Cowtown Classic with 3-2 mark

FT. WORTH, Texas --  After winning two games Friday in the Cowtown Classic in Ft. Worth, Texas, the NOC Enid Jets won there first game Saturday and dropped there last two in the tough opening season classic.

The Jets lost to the Ranger 5-1 and Galveston 6-1 on Saturday.

In the first game, Ranger College scored four runs in the first four innings and held on for a 5-1 win on Saturday. 

Kelsey Gammage had two hits for the Jets while Jade Stricklin, Malorie Wilburn, Lindsi Spring and Kaitlyn Thomas had one hit each.  Spring doubled for the only Jets extra base hit.

Spring suffered the loss in the circle allowing three earned runs in six innings of work.  She struck out two and allowed 11 hits.

In the second game, the Jets lost to Galveston 6-1.

NOC fell behind 6-0 after four innings while scoring their only run in the 3rd inning.  Jade Strickland singled home Courtlyn Head for the Jets only run.

Victoria Vasquez saw her record fall to 1-1 as she allowed two earned runs in seven innings striking out four.

NOC had four hits on the day all singles by Strickland, Hannah Kvasnicka, Maddie James, and Head.

NOC will be in action next on Tuesday against Hutchinson at 1 p.m.
