Lady Jets earn road win at NOC Tonkawa

TONKAWA, Oklahoma -- The NOC Enid Lady Jets used a game high 32 points from Sarah Griswold to win at NOC Tonkawa 98-70 Friday night.

NOC Enid improved to 20-3 on the year and 10-0 in conference.

"I was really proud of our girls' ability to come out focused and ready to play," said coach Scott Morris.  "We've had a lot of distractions the past few weeks but the team showed a lot of maturity to come out ready and not let those distractions become an excuse.  Sarah (Griswold) and Kaylee (Hurst) stepped up big for us.  That's not easy to do in a rivalry game like this, proud of them as well."

The Lady Jets broke open a close game late in the first quarter building a 26-17 lead.  NOC Enid then broke the game wide open with a 14-0 run to build a 47-29 halftime edge.

NOC Tonkawa cut the lead to 50-38 but that was as close as the Lady Mavs would get.

Kaylee Hurst added 18 for the Lady Jets while Jacie Engler added 10.

The game was rescheduled from Thursday when classes and activities were canceled due to bad weather.

The Lady Jets host Seminole Monday night at the Mabee Center in Enid.
