The 17th ranked NOC Enid Lady Jets opened NJCAA Region 2 play Thursday night with a 72-63 win over Eastern at the Mabee Center.
NOC (7-1) was led by Shelby Black with 25 points while Sarah Griswold added 13, Kaylee Hurst 11, and Tanara Combs 10.
The Lady Jets built a 39-23 halftime lead and appeared to be on cruise control before Eastern rallied from 21 points down to take a 56-54 lead with 7:33 remaining in the game.
NOC then rebounded with a 12-0 run to build the lead back to 66-56 with 4:23 left.
Eastern battled to within 66-60 with 2:48 but NOC scored the next six points to lead 72-60 and eventually win 72-63.
The Lady Jets travel to Seminole for their first road conference game Nov. 25.
