The NOC Enid Lady Jets Soccer team opens the 2024 season Thursday at #20 Hutchinson (KS) at 6 p.m.
Second year head coach Cesar Zepeda welcomes an experienced group hoping to build on last year's 9-7-3 record.
"We are looking forward to a great 2024 season," Zepeda said. "Our pre-season has been going really well and we are excited to kick off the season. We are looking forward to matching up against whoever our opponent is and working toward a playoff spot."
The Jets compete in Region 2 against Seminole, Rose State, Redlands, NEO, Connors, Eastern, Murray, and Rich Mountain. The Jets were 8-5-3 in conference one year ago. Seminole is the only ranked team in Region 2 coming in at #3 in the pre-season poll.
"We have a really strong group of sophomores who had a great spring season," Zepeda added. "We played some very challenging opponents but that allowed our players to build chemistry with one another, confident within their own abilities and been in tough games to help furnish their experience on the pitch this fall.
Returning starters for the Jets include Rachel Foster, Rainya Cattina, Kya Cornett, Monika Olivares, Megan Sharp, and Olivia Perrin. Players that are ready to step into starting roles are Jerhyn Lewis, Jurney Johnston, Jacey Johnston, and Evee Jones.
