Seven NOC Enid Jets were named to the OG&E Region II District 2 All-Tournament team Sunday.
Freshman pitcher Braxton Douthit was named the Tournament MVP. Douthit pitched 14 innings in the tournament. He went the distance in a 4-2 win over Western on Thursday and then went five innings against Western on Sunday allowing just one earned run in the Jets 6-5 region tournament clincher. He struck out seven in the two starts.
Also named to the team were Clayton Peterson, Brendon Woelfle, EJ Taylor, Wesley O'Neill, Rowdy Reihs and Chris Hansen.
Woelfle hit two home runs and added a single in Sunday's 6-5 win over Western. His third inning blast gave the Jets a 1-0 lead and then his 10th inning walk-off sent the Jets to the NJCAA World Series. For the series, he hit .500 ( 5 for 10).
Peterson hit .381 (8 for 21) with two home runs and six runs batted in.
Taylor hit .421 (8 for 19) with five runs batted in.
O'Neill hit .389 (7 for 18) with three extra base hits.
Reihs was the starter and winner in Game 2 in a 6-1 win over Redlands. Reihs tossed six innings allowing one earned run. He also pitched two innings of relief in Sunday's win over Western.
Chris Hansen pitched in both games Sunday working four innings, three innings in the clincher in Game 2.
Coach Raydon Leaton was named the All-Region Coach of the Year.
