Jets run rule Sinclair, face top seed Monday

Matt Conerly, Griffin Keller and Clayton Peterson had three hits each while Braxton Douthit allowed just five hits over seven innings in a 12-3 run rule win over Sinclair (OH) in the NJCAA Division II World Series at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid.

The Jets (47-14) will face LSU-Eunice (LA) at 4 p.m. Monday.  LSU-Eunice beat Brunswick 9-0 late Sunday night.

Douthit improved to 11-1 on the year, striking out 10 Sinclair hitters over seven innings.  He allowed three runs all in the sixth inning.  

He received plenty of support from a Jet offense that pounded 15 hits against four Sinclair pitchers.  NOC also worked Sinclair pitching for six walks and one hit by pitch.

Peterson and Conerly had four rbi's each as NOC Enid pounded Sinclair starter Kyle Ruehlman for 10 hits over 5.1 innings.

The Jets built a 4-0 lead until Sinclair rallied for three in the sixth to the cut the lead to 4-3.

NOC regained control in their half of the sixth sending nine men to the plate scoring five runs to take a 9-3 lead.

The Jets then scored three in the seventh to complete the run rule.

NOC Enid had hits in every inning but the third.
