EJ Taylor and Tanner Neely hit two-run home runs and the Jets used a five run 5th inning to outlast Murray State in the Region 2 Tournament opener at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid on Thursday.
NOC (34-16), ranked 18th in the latest NJCAA poll, will face Carl Albert at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
The Jets got on the board quick when Taylor homered to center field scoring DJ Calvert and the Jets led 2-0.
The lead expanded to 4-0 when Tanner Neely's blast to left field scored Calvert and NOC led 4-0.
Murray rallied to take a 5-4 lead in the 5th but the opportunistic Jets rallied themselves for five runs to take a 9-5 lead. Brenden Woelfle had a two run single in the five run inning.
Calvert's sacrifice fly ended the Jets scoring Shane Nixon and the Jets led 10-5.
That was plenty of support for Kaleb McCullough and Lawson Isaacs. Isaacs (2-2) allowed just one run and one hit over 4.1 innings of work in relief of McCullough.
