Jets pound Coffeyville 12-2

EDMOND, Oklahoma --  The NOC Enid Jets pounded Coffeyville 12-2 Saturday night in Edmond.

The 10th ranked Jets (2-5) built a 5-2 early lead and then put the game away with six runs in the 5th.

"The scoreboard reflected quite a bit of what the team focused on throughout the week," said head coach Scott Mansfield.  "We had good at bats, good base running, strike throwing on the mound and good solid defense. What also helped get the win was the energy and excitement for one another's success in the dugout helped fuel everything. It's a step in the right direction all around."

Ambren Voitik and Connor Thaxton had two hits each, Voitik scored three runs for the Jets.

Thaxton and Scout Capps had two runs batted in each.

Brandon Hudson allowed one earned run over five innings while striking out eight.  Evan Kowalski tossed two innings of one hit relief.

The Jets are at home Feb. 18 against Rose State at 1 p.m.
