Jets take two from #8 Murray State

The NOC Enid Jets swept #8 Murray State Wednesday at David Allen Memorial Ballpark 6-5 and 18-8.

NOC Enid (17-16) is now 8-6 in conference play.  Murray State (24-10) is also 8-6 in league play.

In Game 1, Jase White's seventh inning pinch hit double scored Ty Chapman giving the NOC Enid Jets a 6-5 win over the Aggies.

The Jets trailed 5-3 heading to the seventh when Brayden Bock doubled and then Holden Yoder walked.  After Owen Tracy walked, Ty Chapman's fly ball was misplayed allowing Bock to score cutting the lead to 5-4.

Miles Poppen's sacrifice then scored Ayden Voitek, who ran for Yoder, and the Jets had tied the score at 5-5 setting up White's heroics.

Josh Rains worked the final 2.1 innings in back of starter Zach Roden.  Bock and Chapman each had two hits for the Jets in Game 1.

In Game 2, Bock had three hits and Yoder four runs batted in for NOC in an 18-8 seven-inning run rule.

Tracy and Chapman added three runs batted in each as well.

The Jets trailed 4-3 in the second before putting up a six-spot to take a 9-4 lead.  The Jets poure it on scoring four runs each in the fith and seventh innings.

Jack Cline earned the win working 5.2 innings while Brodie Finlay and Jesse Slimp pitched in relief.

The Jets travel to Murray State on Saturday to complete the four game set.
