Jets beat Western 6-4, advance in district tournament

The NOC Enid Jets broke a 4-4 tie with two runs in the sixth to edge #16 Western 6-4 in the first round of the Plains District Tournament at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid.

The Jets (28-29) face NOC Tonkawa Friday at 4 p.m. in a winner's bracket contest.

With the score tied at 4-4, Jase White's bunt scored Brayden Bock with the go-ahead run and then Kade Goeke's double scored White with an all important insurance run.

Jack Cline worked 7.1 strong innings allowing four runs on five hits.  Brodie Finlay picked up two big outs in the eighth and then Jesse Slimp earned the save with a scoreless ninth.

Goeke had four hits and three runs batted in for the Jets while Bock had a two-run first inning home run.

Goeke also added rbi singles in the second and fourth innings for the Jets.
