Eight run first inning leads to Jets 16-10 win over NOC Tonkawa

An eight run first propelled the NOC Enid Jets to a 16-10 win over NOC Tonkawa Friday in the Plains District Tournament.

The win sends the Jets (28-29) to the winner's bracket against South Ark Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Jets sent 12 men to the plate scoring eight runs in that big first inning.  Brayden Bock led the way with a three-run home run while Owen Tracy had an inside-the-park two-run home run.  Holden Yoder added a solo shot.

NOC Tonkawa rallied to within 13-10 but the Jets scored three runs over the final two innings to seal the bedlam win.

Nathan Gutierrez had four hits and three runs scored for the Jets while Ty Champman and Tracy had three hits each.  All nine starters for the Jets had hits in Friday's game.

Christian Estep earned the win in relief working two innings while Brodie Finlay earned a three inning save allowing no runs on one hit.
