Nolan Fanning joins the Northern Oklahoma College baseball coaching staff for the 2018 - 2019 season as an assistant coach.
Fanning comes to the Enid from East Central Oklahoma State University where he was a graduate assistant. At East Central, Fanning coached two All – Conference performers, Cale Ridling, and Bryce Dimitroff. Ridling boasted a .353 batting average and added 17 extra base hits along with 7 home runs. Dimitroff accumulated a .366 batting average and added 17 extra base hits along with 4 homeruns. While coaching at ECU, Fanning received his Master’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Sports Administration.
The summers of 2017 and 2018, Fanning coached in the Texas Collegiate League in Texarkana, Texas. As the head coach, the Twins won twenty games in 2018 led them to the TCL playoffs.
In his playing years, Fanning spent two seasons at North Oklahoma College-Enid. As a sophomore he helped the team to a Region II Championships and advanced to the NJCAA World Series. His sophomore season also saw him claim NJCAA Academic All-America honors.
After NOC, he spent two seasons in Durant, Okla., where he helped the Savage Storm to the GAC tournament and earned the Crafton Tull Distinguished Student-Athlete honor as a senior.
Fanning’s family resides in Coalgate, Oklahoma. His parents are Ernie and Debbie Fanning. He has two siblings Roland and Amber Fanning. Amber is a resident of Coalgate, Oklahoma. Roland is a resident of Lexington, Kentucky. He also has two nieces Atty and Emery Jo Fanning.
