The NOC Enid Jets opened Region 2 play Thursday night holding off Eastern 73-71 at the Mabee Center.

NOC (7-4) was led by Ikenna Okeke with 14 points and Josh Perkins with 12.

The Jets built a 40-33 lead at half and never trailed in the second half but couldn't shake the pesky Mountaineers (1-8).

The Jets built as many as seven point leads four times in the second half but Eastern rallied each time though the Jets held off each Eastern run.

Baskets by Questyn Luckey and Josh Perkins gave the Jets a 71-64 with 3:25 remaining.

NOC then held off the Mountaineers making three late free throws to seal the 73-71 win.

Zach McDermott also reached double figures with 11.
