Jets open spring semester with win over Dodge City

Josh Perkins led four NOC Enid Jets in double figures in an 83-75 win over Dodge City Saturday at the Mabee Center.

NOC (9-7) also had double figure contributions from Zach McDermott with 17, Ikenna Okeke 13, and Questyn Luckey with 12.

The Jets led Saturday's game throughout but could never shake the Conquistadors.  The Jets led by as many as 12 in the first half but led by just 44-40 at half.

In the second half, NOC led by as many as 11 at 69-58 but Dodge City cut the lead to 72-70 with just over 3:00 minutes remaining.

Zach McDermott then hit two free throws to build the lead to 74-70.  After Dodge City cut the lead to 74-71, Luckey scored on a short jumper giving the Jets a 76-71 lead.

Dodge City cut the lead to 76-72 but Luckey came through again, this time with a tip in with :41.6 left to give the Jets a 78-72 lead.

NOC then sealed the win at the line as Rance Kendrick hit 3 of 4 down the stretch and Luckey made two free throws to give the Jets the 83-75 win.

Perkins also added 18 rebounds for the Jets while Okeke added nine rebounds and McDermott had eight.

NOC is in action next on Jan. 6 hosting Mid-America Christian University JV at 1 p.m. on Enid Elementary School Day.
