Jets fall to 9th ranked Mavs

TONKAWA, Okla. --  Josh Perkins had 22 points and 12 rebounds but it wasn't enough in a 96-71 loss to 9th ranked NOC Tonkawa.

The loss dropped NOC Enid (14-11) to 5-6 in league play while the Mavs (21-3) improved to 7-3 in OCAC play.

"You aren't going to win many games when you give up 57% from the field," said coach Aaron Butcher.   "Tonkawa was the tougher team tonight and they deserved to win."

Perkins scored 22 points on nine of 13 shooting and had 12 rebounds, five on the offensive boards.

Jalen Stamps had 14 while Rance Kendrick added 11.

The Mavs jumped out to an early 28-9 lead but the Jets rallied to within 37-30 before the Mavs hit a late burst to take a 49-33 lead into halftime.

NOC Enid hosts NEO Feb. 10 at the Mabee Center in Enid.
