Jets power past Western on sophomore night

The NOC Enid Jets blew out to a 20-2 lead over Western and never looked back in a 105-85 win Thursday night inside the Mabee Center.

The Jets (16-14) improved to 7-9 in OCAC play while Western (11-18) fell to 3-13.

Sophomore Rance Kendrick led the Jets with 21 points while Jalen Stamps added 19.  Josh Perkins had 16 for the Jets while Ikenna Okeke added 11.  Perkins added 10 rebounds while Kendrick added six assists.

"I was proud of the way we played tonight," said coach Aaron Butcher.  "We got seven straight defensive stops to start the game and I felt that set the tone for the game. The ball moved last night and we had 28 assists on 39 made FG's. When the ball moves we are pretty efficient."

The Jets led 58-34 at half over Western and cruised to the win.

Sophomores honored before the game included Josh Perkins, Rance Kendrick, Zach McDermott, Questyn Luckey, and Shemar Walker.

NOC Enid will face Connors March 5 at OBU in Shawnee at 3 p.m. in the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament.
