SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -- Zack McDermott had 34 points and five assists leading the NOC Enid Jets past Connors 98-86 Thursday afternoon at OBU in Shawnee in the NJCAA Region 2 Quarterfinal.
The Jets (17-14) advanced to the Region 2 Semi-Finals Friday against top seeded NEO at 6 p.m.
McDermott shot 12 of 18 from the floor and made seven of eight from 3-point range.
While McDermott's 34 points led the Jets, freshman guard Jalen Stamps sealed Thursday's win with 11 points in the game's final 7:00.
Stamps had 16 points while Josh Perkins and Questyn Luckey had 14 each.
The Jets 58 percent from the field and 67 percent from 3-point range. Connors also had a good night shooting at 53 percent from the floor and 62 percent from 3-point range.
Josh Perkins had nine rebounds for the Jets while Ikenna Okeke added eight.
The Jets led 54-39 at half and held off a number of Connors runs in the second half.
The Cowboys cut the the lead to 75-72 with 7:35 remaining but the Jets answered each Connors run.
Connors cut the lead to 91-86 with 1:21 left but NOC Enid scored the final seven points.
McDermott had 21 in the first half for NOC Enid.
