Jets clinch second place with win at Western

ALTUS, Oklahoma -- The NOC Enid Jets clinched second place in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference with an 89-73 win over Western Thursday night.

NOC Enid (15-4) finished the regular season with a 13-3 conference record.  Western (5-15) finished 0-16 in conference play.

Jalen Stamps led six Jets in double figures with 19.

Quentin Harvey added 15, Tydarius Fish 12, Dakoda Joachim 11, and Andrew O'Brien and Teyon Scanlan 10 each.

The Jets left little doubt into Thursday's outcome as NOC Enid built a 52-35 lead at half.

"We jumped on them early, we executed and made shots," said coach Chris Gerber.  "Our defensive intensity was okay, and we limited them to one shot."

The Jets are off until Wednesday when they play as the second seed in the Region 2 Tournament at the Stride Center in Enid.  The Jets face the winner of the Monday night Eastern-Western winner at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

"Proud we finished the season with a win and really proud to finish with a 2 seed," Gerber said.  "Next week will be a big challenge but through all the ups and downs of this year, just happy for the opportunity."
