Jets win opener over OKC Storm

The NOC Enid Jets overcame a slow start in the season opener Wednesday to beat OKC Storm 96-74 at the Mabee Center.

After trailing 25-23 with 3:34 in the first half, the Jets finished the half with an 11-3 run to end the half with a 34-28 lead.

Leading the Storm 51-48 in the second half, the Jets started to take control building as much as a 13 point lead.

After the Storm cut the lead to 84-74, NOC Enid scored th final 12 points to win 96-74.

"First half we let the moment get ahead of us," said coach Chris Gerber.  "But happy with how we settled down and started to do the right things in the second half. Definitely have some things we need to improve on but it was nice to compete and start the long season. Cahlese (Lee) was great from start to finish, he played within himself and it should with his stats."

Lee finished the game with 20 points, five rebounds,and five assists.

Marcell Perry added 17 points and 11 rebounds while Kole Scott added 17 and Nolan Gore 11.

The Jets shot 52% from the floor.
