Jets Can't Catch Up To Weatherford College

The NOC Lady Jets fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-2 loss to Weatherford College on Friday. Weatherford College scored on a double by Destiny Rodriguez, a single by Kalina Sato, and a single by Mikala Douglas in the first inning. The Lady Jets struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Weatherford College, giving up 11 runs. Weatherford College got on the board in the first inning when Rodriguez doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. Weatherford College scored five runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by Weatherford College was led by Analiese Galdeano, Francine Garcia, Kristeny Magallanes, Sato, and Marissa Cruz, all driving in runs in the frame. Lindsi Spring was on the mound for the Lady Jets. She allowed 11 hits and nine runs over three innings, striking out one. Courtney Vaughn threw one inning in relief. The Lady Jets saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Courtlyn Head and Madi Powell each collected multiple hits for the Jets. Powell and Head both had two hits to lead the team.
