Pitts's Walkoff Picture Perfect Ending In NOC's Victory Over Rose State

A walk-off fielder's choice propelled NOC to a decisive, dramatic victory over Rose State, 8-7. The game was tied at seven with the Lady Jetsbatting in the bottom of the eighth when Katie Lane induced Madeline Pitts to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. There was plenty of action on the basepaths as NOC collected 13 hits and Rose had 13. Rose got things moving in the first inning. Rose scored one run when Kennedy Thomas singled. NOC notched three runs in the third inning. PittsLexi Vargas, and Brooklyn Sparkman each drove in runs during the inning. Lindsi Spring led the Lady Jets to victory on the pitcher's mound. She lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero. Courtney Vaughn threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Lane started the game for Rose. She allowed 13 hits and eight runs over seven and a third innings, striking out six and walking one. NOC socked two home runs on the day. Vargas went yard in the third inning as did Sparkman. Rose State smacked three home runs on the day. Camenda Osborn had a homer in the fifth inning. Kaytlyn Marsh went yard in the second inning. Camryn Fixico also went for the long ball in the fifth inning. NOC racked up 13 hits in the game. Kelsey GammageSparkman, and Kyia Monahwee all managed multiple hits for the Lady Jets. Gammage went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Rose totaled 13 hits. Marsh and Thomas all managed multiple hits for Rose State.
