Early Lead For Murray St. Seals Fate For The Lady Jets

NOC fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-3 loss to Murray State on Saturday. Murray scored on a home run by Ivy Amador in the first inning, a home run by Savannah Ashford in the first inning, a double by Karly Kothe in the second inning, a single by Brayden Tisdale in the second inning, and a single by Ashford in the second inning. Murray got things started in the first inning when Amador homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. Murray scored four runs in the second inning. Kothe, Tisdale, and Ashford each had RBIs in the frame. Madison Morris got the start for Murray. She lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out three and walking one. Brooklyn Sparkman started the game for the Lady Jets. She lasted one inning, allowing six hits and six runs while walking zero. Courtney Vaughn and Lindsi Spring entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and three innings respectively. Murray socked two home runs on the day. Amador had a long ball in the first inning. Ashford also had a four bagger in the first inning. Kaitlyn Stark went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead NOC in hits.
