NOC Drops Game 2 To Seminole State After Late Score

NOC lost the lead late in a 5-2 defeat to Seminole State on Tuesday in Game 2 of a doubleheader. The game was tied at two with Seminole batting in the top of the seventh when Abbi Johnson doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. Seminole fired up the offense in the second inning. Jolie Romine hit a solo homer. The Lady Jets knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kyia Monahwee drove in two when she homered. Turner Whorton led things off on the rubber for Seminole. She lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out eight and walking one. Courtney Vaughn started the game for NOC. She allowed nine hits and five runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking zero. Lindsi Spring threw one-third of an inning out of the bullpen. Seminole socked two home runs on the day. Romine had a dinger in the second inning. Hunter White had a long ball in the fifth inning. Kaitlyn Stark and Monahwee each collected one hit to lead the Lady Jets. Seminole Statet tallied nine hits. Kristen Prieto and Johnson all had multiple hits for Seminole. Prieto went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Seminole in hits. Seminole State didn't commit a single error in the field. Johnson had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
