In Walkoff, NOC Loses To Carl Albert

NOC fell to Carl Albert 7-6 on Tuesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at six with Carl Albert batting in the bottom of the seventh when Montana Carson singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Despite the loss, NOC did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Carl Albert had 11 hits on the way to victory. The Lady Jets opened up scoring in the first inning, when Lexi Vargas singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. NOC scored three runs in the third inning. Vargas and Lindsi Spring each had RBIs in the big inning. Carl Albert scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Carl Albert came thanks to a sacrifice fly by Nikki Harrison, an error on a ball put in play by Megan Green, and a double by Anna Boyd. Lindsey Eveld led things off on the rubber for Carl Albert. She surrendered six runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out five. Brooklyn Sparkman led things off in the circle for the Lady Jets. She went six innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking one. Courtney Vaughn threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen. NOC racked up nine hits. Courtlyn Head and Madeline Pitts both had multiple hits for the Lady Jets. Head went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Carl Albert racked up 11 hits on the day. Carson, Katie McCullar, Eveld, Boyd, and Harrison each had multiple hits for Carl Albert. Carl Albert didn't commit a single error in the field. Makenzie Flewellen had the most chances in the field with ten.
