Lady Jets lose in NJCAA National Tournament first round

LUBBOCK, Texas –  The NOC Enid Lady Jets ended their season in the first round of the NJCAA National Tournament at the RIP Center in Lubbock, Texas, losing to Northwest Florida State 79-50.

NOC ended their season at 28-4 while Northwest Florida State improved to 25-5.

Chelsea Lazenby led the Lady Jets with 12 points while Sarah Griswold added nine.  Griswold and Monique Tramble led the Lady Jets in rebounding with five.

The Lady Jets got off to a slow start trailing the Raiders 10-0 out of the gate.

Northwest Florida led 50-26 at half and NOC Enid trailed 66-27 in the third quarter before going on a 14-3 run to end the quarter cutting the lead to 69-39.

The Lady Jets finished the game 18 of 22 (82 percent) at the foul line.

Tramble led the Lady Jets at halftime with five points.

NOC Enid qualified for the NJCAA Tournament winning the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament in Shawnee after finishing the conference season at 16-0.

­­This was NOC Enid's fifth national tournament appearance.
