Holliman leads Jets past SE Nebraska in season opener

Tanner Holliman had quite a day on opening day crushing two home runs including a walk-off grand slam leading NOC Enid past NE Nebraska 6-5 in Game 1 of a doubleheader at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.  

Holliman, a sophomore from Edmond's Oklahoma Christian School, also doubled for the Jets while second baseman Zach Escovedo had two hits and two runs scored.  Catcher Blake Scott added a double and two runs scored.

Holliman's first blast scored Blake Scott in the fourth inning tying the score at 2-2.  

Then in the seventh, the Jets were down to their final out when Holliman's no doubter scored Scott, Escovedo, and Ty Chapman giving NOC the 6-5 win.

Piercen Mcelyea started for the Jets allowing two runs over three innings, Murphy Gienger allowed three unearned runs in 3.2 innings.  Gunner Phillips struck out the only batter he faced to earn the win from the Jets' bullpen.

In Game 2, NE Nebraska won the daylight shortened nightcap 5-3 in five innings.

Calyn Halvorson homered and scored two runs for the Jets, Ben Lawson doubled for NOC.

Dillon Dibrell was the starter allowing one run on three hits over three innings.  He had relief help from Jack Cline and Lane Behymer.  

NE Nebraska scored a four spot in the fourth erasing a 3-1 early Jets lead.
