EDMOND, Oklahoma -- The NOC Enid Jets dropped two tight games at UCO on Saturday, 8-5 to Butler (KS) and 4-3 to Cowley (KS).
The Jets led Butler 5-1 until Butler cut the lead to 5-4 in the eighth and then scored four in the ninth to take the 8-5 win.
The Jets out hit Butler 13-10. Sammy Harris and Ben Lawson had three hits each while Zach Escovedo and Josh Hendricks had two hits each.
Lawson had two doubles for the Jets. Harris had two runs batted in.
Murphy Gienger (0-1) was the loser in relief of Piercen Mcelyea. Gunner Phillips finished out the ninth for the Jets.
In the second game, the Jets were tied with Cowley 3-3 before the Tigers scored the game winner in the eighth winning 4-3.
Calyn Halvorson had two runs batted in for the Jets. NOC had five hits, one each for Halvorson, Blake Scott, Tanner Holliman, Turner Pruitt, and Lawson.
Lane Behmyer was the loser in relief of Thomas Kuykendall and Dylon Mallett.
The Jets (2-8) host Butler (KS) on Monday at noon.
