Jets earn split at National Park in conference opener

HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas --  The NOC Enid Jets split a pair of games against National Park (AR) in the conference opener for both schools.

They were 6-3 winners in Game 2 after dropping Game 1 8-3.

The Jets (6-13) are 1-1 in league play while National Park (12-7) is also 1-1 in conference.

In Game 2, Tanner Holliman's home run scored Zach Escovedo in the ninth to give NOC some breathing room in a 6-3 win.

Holliman and Escovedo had three hits each while Sammy Harris added two.  Ben Lawson, who homered in the second, added two hits.

The Jets scored the go-ahead run in the 6th on a Ty Chapman ground out scoring Escovedo.

Murphy Gienger was the winning pitcher, Jack Cline earned the save with three innings of scoreless relief.

In Game 1, Holliman hit his first home run of the day but it wasn't enough in an 8-3 loss.

Holliman had two of the Jets' four hits and two runs batted in.

Piercen Mcelyea and Gunner Phillips combined on the mound allowing eight runs on seven hits.

The Jets are at South Arkansas March 18-19 for a four game series.
