Jets earn road sweep at Carl Albert

POTEAU, Oklahoma --  Calyn Halvorson homered in each game as the NOC Jets picked up a key road sweep of Carl Albert 9-6 and 11-2 in Poteau on Thursday.

The Jets (22-24) improved to 12-10 in conference while Carl Albert (17-26) fell to 9-13.

In Game 1, the Jets led 7-6 before adding two insurance runs in the seventh to win 9-6.

Calyn Halvorson and Shea Morrison homered for the Jets, Morrison's coming in the seventh scoring Sammy Harris.

Harris had three hits and three runs scored for NOC Enid.  Ty Chapman had two hits and two runs batted in.

Piercen Mcelyea allowed four earned runs over 5.2 innings before Jakob Brandenberger closed the door with 1.1 innings of hitless relief.

In Game 2, the Jets scored seven runs in the fifth to build a 10-0 lead and cruise 11-2 over the Vikings.

Murphy Gienger allowed one earned run over eight innings striking out four.

Halvorson continued his hot hitting with four hits and four rbi's.

Chapman added three hits while Jack Roubik and Turner Pruitt had two hits each.

The Jets host Carl Albert Sunday at 1 p.m. to conclude the four game conference series.
