Mcelyea throttles Western in Jets' win

Piercen Mcelyea tossed a six hit complete game in a 4-3 win over #18 Western earning the Jets a split against the Pioneers.

Western won the second game 13-3.

The Jets (25-29) are 15-15 in conference while Western (36-17) improved to 20-10.

Mcelyea struck out eight and walked one in the 4-3 win.

Ben Lawson and Tanner Holliman homered for the Jets, NOC Enid scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice by Ty Chapman scoring Blake Scott in the sixth.

In Game 2, the Calyn Halvorson and Turner Pruitt had two hits each in a 13-3 loss to the Pioneers.

Murphy Gienger was the starter for the Jets.

NOC is at Western to finish the regular season on Sunday.
