Jets fall to Murray State, play for District Title Monday

ENID, Oklahoma -- The NOC Enid Jets still need one win to win the Plains District Championship and clinch a berth in the NJCAA D2 World Series after losing to Murray State 15-9 Sunday afternoon in Enid.

Monday's game is set for 3 p.m. at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

Ben Lawson launched the Jets to a great start with a leadoff home run for NOC Enid but the Aggies then scored 15 unanswered runs to take a 15-1 lead.

The Jets battled back with eight runs over the final three innings but fell 15-9.

Lawson hit two home runs for the Jets while Calyn Halvorson added one for NOC Enid.

Halvorson had three hits while Lawson, Blake Scott, Shea Morrison, and Sammy Harris had two hits each.  Lawson, Scott, and Ty Chapman had two rbi's each.

Murphy Gienger started for the Jets with bullpen help from Maddux Mayberry and Brayden Bock.
