PINE BLUFF, Arkansas -- Cooper Smith and Daniel Schlehuber provided solid starts in a season opening sweep of Southeast Arkansas Thursday afternoon.
In Game 1, Smith allowed one run over 4.1 innings and Jesse Slimp tossed 2.2 innings of hitless relief in the 6-1 win.
The Jets scored three runs in the first and three in the sixth over the Sharks.
Brandon Pierre had three hits and three steals for the Jets while Pierre, Jesse Ponce, Jhett Creel, Gabe Hamilton, and Graham Hylton had rbi's for the Jets.
In Game 2, Daniel Schlehuber worked 4.1 innings of shut out baseball and Cooper Smith homered in the 3-1 Jets win.
Carson Sowell and Julio Heredia worked from the Jets' bullpen, Heredia earning the save with two innings of hitless relief.
Jhett Creel had three hits including a double and Owen Tracy added an rbi double for the Jets.
The two teams play another doubleheader Friday starting at noon.
